*Please be advised that these assessment questions have now been confirmed by External Examiners.
The marking criteria for this level 7 (MSc Degree) can be found here. We will collaboratively define how these apply to the module in weeks seven and eight.
This module is assessed through six short peer review reports (ca 500w each). These are due on Wednesday midnight in weeks three, four, five, six, nine and ten. Please submit in the weekly tab on KEATS and bring two printouts of your review to class.
During the first hour of each class we will then swap these reports around, give each other friendly and constructive feedback, and in the process learn to be better writers and peer reviewers. This includes me: I¡¯ll also write a report each week, and I also need to improve. You are then encouraged to revise your reports after class, incorporating the feedback received from each other.
At the end of term, you¡¯ll be asked to submit one joint file with all six (revised) reports via the official TurnitIn link. This is the version of your work that I will grade, and that the second marker will see. Each of the six reports gets equal weight towards the final mark, except:
Since this process only works if everybody keeps writing and submits their reports in time, the mark for any report that was originally submitted later than Wednesday midnight will be penalised according to the college policy here.
As for the grading criteria, I expect that we will jointly discover and determine what makes a good versus not-so-good report during our weekly discussions (a key learning outcome of this module!); in weeks seven and eight we will formalize it.
To ensure fairness your written assignments/exam booklet will be anonymised until the marking is complete and we use second markers to check on grading of individual assignments and range of marks overall. An external examiner for the programme who

comes from another university also reviews a selection of all assignments/exam scripts from all modules and monitors our marking.
The Convenor reserves the right to remove anonymisation after marking is completed or where any case of plagiarism or submission of a bought essay is suspected. Such cases will be dealt with through the College disciplinary system.
You may request to see the breakdown of the marks awarded in your exam paper, please contact your Programme Officer to for further information.
If you wish to discuss any of your marks and feedback with the Module Convenor you are welcome to make an appointment for this during their office hours.
