M8 WOW Portfolio Piece
Execution Guidelines
Guidelines
You have the option of submitting a paper or doing an in-class presentation (or both). Professional speaking and writing opportunities are both valuable.
Presentation Requirements
1. Make sure you are signed up for a WOW Portfolio Piece group (even if you are working alone).
2. Sign up for a presentation slot on the M7 module signup sheet.
3. Submit your notebook and slides (PDF format) on Blackboard.
4. Present you work in class (10 – 11 minutes to present, 1 – 2 minutes for Q&A). The general structure of your presentation should be:
a. Executive summary (BLUF). Make sure that we understand your business problem, metrics, final recommendations, and KPIs up front.
b. Analysis (discussion of your EDA, data prep, classification/regression, and XAI, as appropriate). Remember to be crisp – you only have 10 – 11 minutes and have to convey the essential details of your work in that time.
c. Conclusion (recap the reasons for your recommendations, and perhaps do a SWOT analysis of your solution).
5. Make sure that you have balanced speaking responsibilities if working in a group.
6. Practice your presentation at least twice before doing it in front of the class!
